Set up your Pro device in Home Assistant
Set up your Pro device in Home Assistant
WiFi Requirement: The Pro only supports 2.4GHz WiFi networks. 5GHz networks are not supported. Make sure you connect to a 2.4GHz network during setup.
If your Pro device isn't appearing in the Home Assistant app, you may need to update its firmware. To update your device, go to Restore or Update your Pro to factory settings using a computer and follow the instructions.
About Ethernet/PoE: The Pro ships with WiFi firmware by default. After initial setup, you can enable Ethernet/PoE for more reliable connectivity.
Easily set up your Pro device using an iPhone or Android with the Home Assistant app.
Add Everything Presence Pro to Home Assistant
Make sure your Home Assistant instance is updated to the latest version to ensure compatibility with your Pro device.
Plug your Pro device into power using a USB-C cable. You should see the RGB LED show a blue pulsing animation, indicating that the device is ready for setup.
Open the Home Assistant app on your mobile device and navigate to Settings → Devices & Services.
Look for a new device labeled 'everything-presence-pro-xxxxxx' (Improv via BLE) and tap Add.
Enter the Wi-Fi credentials for the network you want the device to connect to.
Once you see the message "Wi-Fi connected successfully", you can close the prompt.
Your Everything Presence Pro is now ready to be added to Home Assistant using the ESPHome integration.
We don't recommend renaming the device at this point if you want to use the Everything Presence Zone Configurator tool. Keep the default name to maintain compatibility.
Try This Now
Once your Pro is connected, try this to see it in action:
Install the Zone Configurator add-on (see Installation Guide)
Open the Zone Configurator and select your Pro device
Walk around the room and watch your position tracked in real-time!
The Pro combines both static presence detection AND real-time tracking, so you'll see the best of both EP1 and EPL capabilities.
Want to Use Ethernet/PoE?
The Pro supports Ethernet with Power over Ethernet (PoE) for the most reliable connection. To switch:
Complete WiFi setup first (above)
Connect an ethernet cable to your Pro
Follow the Enable Ethernet & Optional Features guide
Ethernet/PoE is recommended for permanent ceiling installations where a single cable provides both power and data.
What's Next?
Now that your Pro is set up, here are the recommended next steps:
