# Add Everything Presence Lite to Home Assistant

1. Make sure your **Home Assistant** instance is **updated** to the latest version to ensure compatibility with your EPL device.

2. Plug your EPL device into power. You should see a flashing red light, indicating that the device is on.
3. Open the **Home Assistant** app on your mobile device and navigate to **Settings → Devices & Services**.

4. Look for a new device labeled **'everything-pr-xxxxxx' (Improv via BLE)** and tap **Add**.

5. Enter the Wi-Fi credentials for the network you want the device to connect to.

6. Once you see the message **"Wi-Fi connected successfully"**, you can close the prompt.

7. Your **Everything Presence Lite** is now ready to be added to Home Assistant using the **ESPHome integration**.

We don't recommend renaming the device at this point if you want to use the Everything Presence Zone Configurator tool. Keep the default name to maintain compatibility.

# Try This Now

Once your EPL is connected, try this to see it in action:

1. Install the [Zone Configurator](/doc/6640e98e-2d8f-4cbe-a705-5d215371b372) add-on (see [Installation Guide](/doc/27058e80-a358-4e3c-9138-2f91af17692e))
2. Open the Zone Configurator and select your EPL device
3. Walk around the room and watch your position tracked in real-time!

This is the best way to understand what your EPL can see and how to set up zones.
