Set up your EP1 device in SmartThings
Set up your EP1 device in SmartThings
This guide shows how to add Everything Presence One (EP1) to Samsung SmartThings.
What you need
Everything Presence One powered on and connected to Wi-Fi
A SmartThings hub. The SmartThings phone app on its own is not enough.
The SmartThings app
Your phone connected to the same home network
EP1 and the SmartThings hub on the same local network
Avoid guest Wi-Fi, VPNs, and network isolation during setup. SmartThings uses the hub to talk to EP1 locally.
If you are not sure whether your device firmware is current, check Firmware Updates before adding it to SmartThings.
Step 1: Install the Edge driver
You only need to install the Edge driver once per SmartThings account and hub.
Open the Everything Presence Edge Drivers invite.
Sign in with the Samsung account used by your SmartThings home.
Accept the invite for
Everything Presence Edge Drivers.Enrol your SmartThings hub in the channel.
Install the
Everything Presence Edge Driversdriver.
After installation, your hub should show the Everything Presence Edge Drivers driver installed. If no hub appears, confirm the hub is online and that you are signed in with the Samsung account that owns the SmartThings home.
Step 2: Add EP1 to SmartThings
Open the SmartThings app.
Go to
Devices.Tap
+.Choose
Add device.Choose
Scan nearby.Wait for EP1 to appear.
Follow the prompts to add it to your room.
The device may appear using its device name, such as Everything Presence One 8f8aa8.
Step 3: Check the main sensors
After setup, open the device in SmartThings and check that these tiles update:
Presence
PIR Motion
mmWave Presence
Temperature
Humidity
Illuminance
Use Presence for your first automations. It is the best default tile for normal room occupancy.
If your EP1 has the CO2 module installed, EP1 must also be running firmware that enables the CO2 sensor. After the module is installed and the correct firmware is flashed, SmartThings should show a CO2 reading once the driver detects the module.
See Integrate the Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Module for EP1 for the hardware and firmware steps.
Troubleshooting
EP1 does not appear when scanning nearby
Confirm the SmartThings hub is online.
Confirm EP1 is powered on and connected to Wi-Fi.
Keep EP1 and the SmartThings hub on the same local network.
Avoid guest Wi-Fi, VPNs, and client isolation.
Wait a minute, then run
Scan nearbyagain.Restart EP1 if it was recently updated or moved to a new network.
CO2 does not appear
CO2 only appears when the CO2 module is installed and EP1 is running firmware that enables the CO2 sensor. If the module was just installed or the firmware was just flashed, restart EP1 and reopen the device in SmartThings.
The device shows offline
Check that EP1 is still connected to Wi-Fi and that the SmartThings hub is online. SmartThings uses the hub to talk to the device locally, so both must be on the network.
