# How to update LD2450 Firmware

Follow these steps to update the firmware on your LD2450 sensor.

# Enable the mmWave Bluetooth entity

Before updating, make sure the **mmWave Bluetooth entity** is enabled in Home Assistant:


1. Open Home Assistant.
2. Navigate to **Settings > Devices & Services**.
3. Locate the **mmWave Bluetooth entity** and enable it if it is disabled.


# Update the firmware using the HLKRadarTool app


1. Install the **HLKRadarTool** app:
   * [Download for Android](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hlk.hlkradartool&hl=en_AU)
   * [Download for iOS](https://apps.apple.com/au/app/hlkradartool/id1638651152)
2. Stand near the EPL device.
3. Open the **HLKRadarTool** app and connect to the **LD2450 sensor**.
4. Update the firmware to **version 2.04.23101915** or later.

If the **HLKRadarTool** app crashes on iOS, use **RadarTools** instead.

:::warning
If upgrading to version **2.14 or later,** you must set the baud rate back to 256000. This update seems to change the baud rate. If you do not change it back, the EPL will not receive any sensor information.

# Disable the mmWave Bluetooth entity (Optional)

After updating, you can disable the **mmWave Bluetooth entity** to prevent unauthorized access:


1. Open Home Assistant.
2. Navigate to **Settings > Devices & Services**.
3. Toggle the **mmWave Bluetooth entity** off.

If the entity is no longer needed, you can disable it entirely.
