Everything Presence Pro & Lite – Polygon Zone Migration (v1.2.0 / v1.5.0)

This guide walks you through the one‑time migration from rectangular zones to polygon zones using the Zone Configurator.

Who needs to do this

  • Everything Presence Pro moving to firmware v1.2.0 (polygon‑only)

  • Everything Presence Lite moving to firmware v1.5.0 (polygon‑only)

If you are already on polygon‑only firmware, you do not need this guide.

Before you start (one‑time prep update)

The Zone Configurator needs a small one‑time update before it can update your device.

  • Pro: install v1.1.4 first

  • Lite: install v1.4.2 first

You’ll see the prep‑update prompt after you select a device and click Check for Updates.

Step‑by‑step (recommended)

  1. Open Zone Configurator → Settings → Firmware.

  2. Select your device.

  3. Click Check for Updates.

  4. If prompted, click the link to install one‑time update (v1.1.4 / v1.4.2). You will need to do this over USB.

    1. Click the link to bring up the flash page

    2. Select the options you need for your device

    3. Press Install Firmware

    4. Plug device into USB, select the USB port from the popup

    5. Press install

    6. Wait till 100% completion

    7. Once it says “Installation Complete”, close this tab and head back to zone configurator.

  5. Click I have installed version X to continue.

  6. The configurator will automatically:

    • Confirm the prep update

    • Refresh device details

    • Check for the next update

  7. When the polygon update is available, choose Continue and Migrate.

  8. The configurator will:

    • Back up your existing rectangular zones

    • Install the new firmware

    • Re‑sync entities

    • Restore your zones as polygons

    • Verify the result

What to expect during the migration

You’ll see a progress checklist:

  • Backup zones

  • Install update

  • Re‑sync entities

  • Restore zones

  • Verify zones

Keep this window open until it completes.

If something goes wrong

Don’t worry - your zones are backed up.

Try these quick fixes:

  • Click Re‑sync entities

  • Open Settings → Zone Backups, select devices from drop-down and restore your latest backup

If the verification step shows a warning, your zones were still restored. You can review them in the Zone Editor.

FAQ

Will my Wi‑Fi be erased when flashing the prep update? No. The installer preserves your Wi‑Fi settings. Do not tick the option to erase.

Do I need to redo my zones? No. Your rectangular zones are converted into polygons automatically.

Can I do this manually? Yes. Back up your zones before updating. After the update, restore the backup to convert them to polygons.
